Media work

Retaining visibility in the media ocean

your situation

Mobile internet and social networks have increased the amount of information available to consumers, companies and opinion leaders beyond measure. Those who want to remain or become visible in this ocean of media messages need to deliver on a multitude of channels and to adapt their media activities to the rapidly evolving needs of the recipients.

One-sided declarations have been replaced by interactive two-way communication, press releases mindful only of the sender's concerns have made way for storytelling across all media platforms. While the traditional media's monopoly on information is a thing of the past, journalists and editors still play an important role in selecting and prioritising news.

The maxim of focusing on the recipient in thinking and acting holds true for media work as well: a message's content and format has to be tailored to the needs and behaviours of the different recipient groups.
