MOBILE COMMUNICATION: How sustainable is the booming Apps business?

"The App is the new C64 – very successful in the short-term, but not a sustainable business-model", says German technology expert Joachim Graf. Graf, who operates the technology webservice ibusiness.de, does not believe in the sustainability of closed business models, such as Apple's App Store. 

 

Market researchers from Booz & Company see the business in a different way though. In a study they predict turnovers of App-Stores to grow by 76% per year for the next four years to reach a yearly turnover of 19 bn € in 2013. [text in German]
