Pfister Immobilien AG and Migros Ostschweiz are building a business development in Samedan for retailers, gas stations and restaurants with underground parking. Migros will open its first supermarket and Migros restaurant there in Engadin in 2021. Other shops and commercial spaces are being rented out. The development will further strengthen the Cho d'Punt quarter as a shopping street in the Upper Engadin.

Samedaner Pfister Immobilien AG is building a development in the Cho d`Punt quarter in Samedan together with Migros Eastern Switzerland. A Migros supermarket on an area of around 2,200 m2 is being built on the upper floor of the main building. The range of products specially designed for the Engadin will include fresh and regional food, flowers, colonial goods, non-food products, household appliances and consumer electronics.
On the ground floor, a further 900 square meters of retail stores are rented out. There is also a Migros restaurant with 160 seats and a gas station with shop and bistro. A car wash center and other commercial spaces are being built in a second building. The entire complex is accessed by a two-storey, spacious underground car park with 237 parking spaces.
The development of the project took four years and was driven forward by Fanzun Architekten, Pfister Immobilien and entrepreneur Martin Merz. “The building is carried out in accordance with the Minergie-P standard,” architect Gian Fanzun emphasized to the media. A photovoltaic system with an output of 250 kWp will be built on the roof.
On August 14, 2018, the municipality of Samedan issued the construction permit. Preparatory work has begun and the opening of the center is planned for 2021. The costs for the first stage of the development with the main building and the underground car park amount to around 50 million francs. Migros will create around 70 year-round jobs in the supermarket and restaurant, plus a further ten jobs in the gas station and car wash. All in all, the center will offer around 100 jobs.
First Migros location and marketplace for Engadines

“Cho d'Punt is already an Upper Engadin center for retail, trade and services. Migros will bring new customers to the district and further revive it,” says Urs Pfister, managing director of Pfister Immobilien AG. The building itself will also provide space for local businesses: “The foyer in the entrance area offers high-frequency and attractive retail spaces. We want to create an Engadin marketplace there and create an authentic shopping experience.”
The aim of the local initiator is to provide impetus and attract more companies and businesses to settle in the Cho d'Punt quarter. “There is plenty of room for local entrepreneurs in our project. We invite them to get involved!”
Pfister Immobilien AG and Migros Eastern Switzerland will provide information on the detailed timeline of the construction project after receiving the permit for the interior design.
