Klinik Gut can play an important role in the Canton of Graubünden's entry into health tourism. The Bündner Health Director, District President Dr. Christian Rathgeb, came to this conclusion after his visit to the Gut St. Moritz Clinic. The project for a new Gut clinic and a health hotel in St. Moritz is a lighthouse for the canton.

“I hope that the excavators will open soon,” District President Dr. Christian Rathgeb told the media in St. Moritz on Friday with reference to the “Serletta Süd” project. The project was a stroke of luck for Grisons, as many words about the development of health tourism in the canton are now quickly followed by action.
Dr. Adrian Urfer, chief physician and CEO of Klinik Gut, emphasized that he continues to rely on the “Serletta” card. Urfer called on the Graubünden government to quickly decide on the pending proposal so that the proceedings could continue. This is in the interest of the entire region; after all, the new building enables the Upper Engadin to enter modern health tourism.
Although he could not say when the government would decide on the project, Christian Rathgeb said, it was important to him that a health hotel and a clinic could be built. “If you want, there are win-win situations.”
Klinik Gut shows that Grisons is an attractive destination for patients from Germany and abroad, explained Adrian Urfer. The St. Moritz Clinic is busy virtually all year round, even in months when many hotels are closed due to a lack of guests.
“In this way, health tourism creates year-round jobs in healthcare, tourism and supplier companies in the canton.”
Christian Rathgeb had visited Klinik Gut in St. Moritz together with the head of the cantonal health department, Dr. Rudolf Leuthold, and department secretary Gion Claudio Candinas. After a tour and discussions with employees, managers and members of the Board of Directors, he reported on positive impressions in a media briefing.
Klinik Gut plays an important role in Graubünden's healthcare. With its partnerships with regional hospitals in Thusis, Savognin, Samedan and Poschiavo, it makes a significant contribution to regional medical care.
The new Gut Fläsch Clinic will be opened at the end of November. Dr. Adrian Urfer is pleased to say that the most modern orthopedic clinic in Graubünden is creating even more opportunities to treat Bündner patients within the canton.
When patients from Graubünden seek treatment in other cantons, around 50 million francs flow out of the canton each year. “It is important to keep these patients and the jobs created as a result of their treatment in the canton,” Health Director Rathgeb agreed with him.
