St. Moritz will continue to offer world-class polo sports in the coming winter: Four high-goal teams from Europe and overseas will be fighting for the Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz 2015 from January 30 to February 1. The new sponsorship under Evviva Polo St. Moritz AG has already concluded all important sponsorship contracts, meaning that the event is financially secure.
High goal teams from America, Germany, Australia and Switzerland will compete for the coveted Cartier Trophy on the frozen Lake St. Moritz for the 2015 Snow Polo World Cup. The three tournament days offer excellent polo sports against the unique winter backdrop of the Engadin and a supporting program with social events on the lake and in the first-class hotels in St. Moritz.
“The response to our project has been tremendous, everyone is working together,” says Reto Gaudenzi. “Thanks to the support of sponsors, the community, the spa club and the destination, we can therefore say today that the tournament in 2015 is financially secure.”
With four team sponsors Cartier, Badrutt's Palace Hotel, BMW and Trois Pommes as well as gold sponsor Deutsche Bank and equipment supplier La Martina, all important sponsors have already been engaged. Reto Gaudenzi and his team have only been responsible for the St. Moritz tournament again for just under four months. Following the withdrawal of the previous organizers, the former initiator of Snow Polo, together with long-time friends of the St. Moritz Tournament, formed a new sponsorship in spring and immediately began working to continue the traditional event.
Admission to the St. Moritz Snow Polo Tournament, including the stands, is traditionally free for all spectators. Local restaurateurs offer the public a wide range of culinary delights. Snow Polo and Evviva Polo St. Moritz AG
Polo on snow was first played in 1985 in St. Moritz. Since then, St. Moritz has always been dominated by the Snow Polo World Cup on the last weekend in January. Evviva Polo St. Moritz AG was founded in spring 2014 by well-known exponents of the Swiss polo scene: Piero Dillier, Reto Gaudenzi, Andy Küchel, Werner Meier and Thomas Rinderknecht thus laid the foundation for the continuation of the St. Moritz Snow Polo World Cup.
