The Omicron variant has turned the Bündner test strategy on its head. The chains of infection can no longer be effectively interrupted and the very high infection figures have completely overwhelmed laboratory capacities. However, because the development of the situation in hospitals is encouraging, the government has stopped school testing and operational tests outside the health and care sector as of this Friday evening.

With the cessation of Graubünden operational tests, a successful chapter in pandemic management comes to an end. With its testing strategy, Graubünden has set standards throughout Switzerland and has also received much recognition beyond national borders. This has contributed to the positive image of the canton and the holiday region of Grisons during this pandemic.
A success of cooperation
The success of the company and school tests in Grisons is a success of cooperation. On the one hand, the management of the cantonal management staff, the experts from the Office of Military and Civil Protection and the Health Department, as well as the operational testing team, have carefully developed and launched this strategy.
They then implemented it with great flexibility and persistence and adjusted it again and again. They were supported by numerous companies, communities, organizations and private individuals who have committed themselves to the tests. The Corona II Engadin Task Force has also actively supported the company and school tests from the start. This has contributed to the system being particularly high in Südbünden.
On the other hand, several thousand companies and hundreds of schools with thousands of classes have accepted the canton's offer and motivated tens of thousands of employees and students to get tested regularly.
The management of the Corona II Engadin Task Force thanks and congratulates everyone involved on this successful cooperation.
