gartmann.biz accompanies water ambassador Ernst Bromeis on his “Expedition 2014”

The Grisons water ambassador and long-distance swimmer Ernst Bromeis is on his way to become the first person to swim across the Rhine from source to mouth. With his “Expedition 2014”, Bromeis wants to promote the human right to water. Christian Gartmann is responsible for communication work for the entire campaign.

With a media conference on the Lukmanier Pass on Monday, July 7, the official start of the “Expedition 2014” of Ernst Bromeis. The Grisons water ambassador had set off on Lake Dentro a few hours earlier to swim across the Rhine from its source to the mouth in Hoek van Holland.

The public is kept informed about the progress of the project throughout the expedition. A blog on the website www.dasblauewunder.ch and pages on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr provide the latest news about the 2014 expedition and lots of background information about Ernst Bromeis, his previous projects and his goals.

Bromeis got to know Gartmann in 2012 during the campaign for the Olympic project “Grisons 2022": “I immediately noticed the careful and empathetic way in which Christian Gartmann managed the highly complex communication of the Olympic candidacy,” Bromeis remembers. “Even in the strongest headwinds, he remained loyally committed to the cause and brought the project to an end with a calmness and thoroughness that impressed me. I can't think of a better communications professional for my 2014 expedition.”

As a media manager, the communications specialist from St. Moritz is the main point of contact for editorial offices and agencies. “Ernst Bromeis really likes media relations, but during the expedition he must be able to concentrate fully on his sporting and mental performance,” explains Gartmann. “The performance and risks of such an expedition should not be underestimated.”

In addition to Gartmann, the well-known Dutch documentary filmmaker will Dorothee Meddens accompany the expedition. As part of a film project about the Rhine, she also portrays Ernst Bromeis' expedition and will constantly produce and publish current images in video and photography.
