Graubünden promotes the development of a joint digital platform for holiday experiences and data management

The Graubünden government guarantees Inside Labs AG (Laax) and SPOT Werbung AG (St. Moritz) a maximum contribution of 970,000 francs to develop a joint digital platform for tourism. It should provide guests with even better suggestions for booking holiday experiences and allow providers of tourist services to address potential guests even more precisely.

Digital guest guides are becoming increasingly important in tourism. They make it easier for guests to create and book an individual holiday experience online. In doing so, the digital platforms continuously collect guest data. They are used to suggest offers to guests that should meet their interests as closely as possible.

This makes it easier for guests to search for and book offers and tourism providers can address potential guests more precisely via digital platforms. In addition to globally active corporations such as Booking or Airbnb, local platforms have also been able to establish themselves as digital companions for tourism. In Grisons, the “holiday shop” from SPOT Werbung and the “Omni Suite” from Inside Labs have already proven their worth in several destinations over the years.

While global players have customer relationships and guest data in the hands of foreign companies, they remain with local platforms in the region and thus serve the respective regional interests exclusively.

Customer relationships and customer data remain in the region

Inside Labs and SPOT Werbung have recognized that their systems can only survive in international competition if they join forces. While SPOT Werbung's “vacation shop” has its strength in offering and selling holiday offers, the strength of Inside Labs' “Omni Suite” lies in data management and data analysis. If the systems are linked, they can be significantly improved once again for guests and tourism providers.

The common goal is clear: The SaaS solution should also become the leading software platform for data-based management of tourism ecosystems on the international market. The development costs for linking the two systems are estimated at around 3.23 million francs. The government of the Canton of Grisons has promised the two Graubünden companies a cantonal contribution of a maximum of 970,000 francs. She speaks within the framework of the Act to Promote Digital Transformation in Grisons. With this funding decision, the canton is helping to strengthen the attractiveness of Grisons as a technology location, to create more jobs and to secure existing jobs in the canton.

The systems are operated by each destination. In this way, they create the opportunity to digitize their local service providers. Vendors and guests benefit from the fact that, in addition to a wide variety of information about the destination, the systems also provide guests with tailor-made offers at the right time. Guests can then combine these according to their own taste, book and pay immediately. The result is a digital holiday experience that brings guests together with providers and meets the needs of today's society.

SPOT advertising and the holiday shop

SPOT Werbung is a full-service communications agency with a strong digital focus. Her core competencies lie in location and destination marketing as well as in the hotel and catering industry. Founded in 1990, the agency employs around 20 people at locations in St. Moritz, Lugano and Innsbruck.

The SPOT Werbung holiday shop is a “one-stop shop” for all tourist services in a destination. For guests, it is a trustworthy platform for getting to know and book the various offers of a destination.

Activities, accommodation, vouchers, posters and souvenirs, event tickets and ski passes are offered in a shopping cart. It also enables tourism providers to easily create and book dynamic packages and package offers. The holiday shop is already in use in Davos Klosters, Engadin St. Moritz and Corvatsch.

Inside Labs and the Omni Suite

Inside Labs from Laax is an independent digital company with its own software platform. It enables destinations to create personal, sustainable and meaningful guest experiences through app-controlled technology.

The Omni Suite from Inside Labs is a SaaS platform for digitizing tourist ecosystems in destinations and ski areas. It enables destinations to get a 360° view of their guests, to personalize them along the customer journey and establish a long-term relationship with them.

The Omni Suite is already being used in Flims Laax Falera, Lenzerheide and Surselva.
