At the start of the Engadin Marathon Week 2019, Rahel Imoberdorf (33) won the Engadin Women's Run for the third time after 2015 and 2018. Together with Seraina Boner, she had a comfortable advantage over the first chasing group. In the sprint, Imoberdorf once again demonstrated her top speed and won by just under a second.
With 41,19.6, she missed her own course record from the previous year by just one second.
A good 40 seconds later, the first four pursuers turned onto the home straight. Zurich Oberlander Rebecca Vontobel beat Luzerner Claudia Schmid in the sprint for 3rd place.
The 17-kilometer route from Samedan to S-chanf was in excellent condition with bright sunshine and excellent snow conditions. 1,387 female runners had registered for the 20th Engadin Women's Run, which means a clear record for registrations.
