Can St. Moritz reinvent itself?

Innovation and quality of St. Moritz as a holiday destination are the main topics of the second “St. Moritz Village Talk”: On Thursday, June 6, the President of the Hotelleriesuisse Association, a brand expert and a specialist journalist will discuss with local decision makers from politics, tourism, industry, hotels, restaurants and the public. The event at Hotel Schweizerhof is public and admission is free. The door opens at 19:45 h; the conversation starts at 20:15 h.

St. Moritz village talk on June 6, starting at 7:45 p.m.: “St. Moritz must become more innovative again.” and “We must better cultivate the qualities that have made St. Moritz great again.” Two of the final sentences of the June 2012 village discussion form the starting point for the St. Moritz village talk next Thursday. Can and must St. Moritz reinvent itself? Hotel Suisse President Guglielmo Brentel, brand expert Klaus-Dieter Koch and NZZ journalist Ruth Spitzenpfeil discuss with local representatives from tourism, trade, industry, politics and the audience in the hall under the direction of Christian Gartmann.

A good 180 spectators came in June 2012 to watch the first St. Moritz village talk. In the end, they agreed with experts and business representatives that maintaining quality and innovative strength are two of the key factors for St. Moritz's future development. The second St. Moritz village discussion will now discuss how innovative strength and quality care can be supported.

Sigi Asprion (community president), Nina Hauser (catering/hotel business economist), Valeria Holinger (tourism student Academia Engiadina), Martin Husi (director Bucherer St. Moritz), Markus Meili (CEO Engadin St. Moritz Mountains) and Bettina Plattner-Gerber (tourism entrepreneur) have already signed up. Admission is free. The door opens at 7:45 p.m., the conversation starts at 8:15 p.m.

At the “St. Moritz Village Talks”, external experts meet with local entrepreneurs and politicians. Opinions are critically scrutinized, and the discussion leader is always looking for solutions.
