New Gut St. Moritz clinic successfully starts operation

The new Gut Clinic in St. Moritz-Bad is off to a successful start. One week after the move, all medical services at the clinic are up and running and the complete surgical program is already being offered. Following accidents at the women's Ski World Cup, several world-class female athletes also had to make use of the medical services offered by Klinik Gut.

After more than 80 years on Via Arona, the team from Klinik Gut moved to the new head office in the Kurpark in St. Moritz-Bad in the first week of December. The most modern orthopedic clinic in Switzerland has recently been located here and treats complaints and injuries to the human musculoskeletal system.

“In the first two days, we carried out minor procedures to play through the use of all devices and the manipulations in the two new operating rooms. We were then able to use the first hip and knee prostheses,” explains the medical director of Klinik Gut, Dr. med. Patrick Baumann, with satisfaction.

“All procedures in the new rooms worked very well and the patients have already been released back home.” As soon as the company had moved, it was the first real winter weekend with numerous accidents involving snow sports. “The Women's Ski World Cup in St. Moritz and Sant'Ambrogio gave us a few very intensive days, but our team and the new modern facilities have already proven themselves very well,” says site manager Dr. med. Julia Rouhi.

“As with every new building, there are still problems here and there, but the team handled the move and the start of operations very well.” As has been the case for many years, the emergency and sports doctors at Klinik Gut were back on a large scale at the Ski World Cup on Corviglia. Unfortunately, some of the female athletes were injured during training sessions and the races carried out. Thanks to modern imaging using MRI, CT and digital X-rays in the new clinic, the respective team doctors and specialists at Klinik Gut were able to examine them quickly and immediately decide on the necessary treatments.
