In the “Serletta” area of St. Moritz, a new health hotel operating all year round and the new Gut Clinic are to be built. Chris Silber St. Moritz AG, as owner of the site, has initiated a revision of the local planning together with the municipality of St. Moritz. A four-star hotel focused on health is planned on the site of today's main post office. The new Gut Clinic, a new post office and a Swisscom telephone exchange are being built in a second building.

The long-standing investigations into a new use of the area of today's main post office are entering their decisive phase. By revising the local planning in the “Serletta” area, Chris Silber St. Moritz AG, as owner of the plot, and the municipality of St. Moritz want to create the legal conditions for the approval of the planned new buildings. Following preliminary reviews by the municipality and canton, the project will be publicly launched on Thursday, December 4, for the participation process.

Instead of today's main post office, where the legendary “Grand Hotel” stood until 1944, a new “Grand Hotel Serletta” is to be built again. The four-star hotel with a focus on health, rehabilitation, wellness and wellbeing will include 129 rooms, 7 suites, staff apartments and restaurant areas as well as cultural, health and sports facilities. Commercial uses and service companies are also intended, and the integration of a cinema is also possible. A new hotel meets the needs of the region, which has lost over 1,400 hotel beds since 2008.

Further down on Via Serlas, a second building will house the new Gut Clinic, a new post office and a Swisscom telephone exchange. Klinik Gut is planning to replace the current clinic with approximately the current capacity of patient beds. The room program includes two modern operating rooms, a day hospital, an emergency ward, a “permanence” with various specialist doctors, therapy rooms as well as offices for doctors and administration of the hospital group operating throughout the canton.

Public terraces with views of the lake will be built between the two buildings, including underground parking areas as well as joint delivery and disposal for the hotel and clinic. With the public edition, the municipality's participation process begins on Thursday. Interested parties can make suggestions for the planned revision of the local planning over a period of thirty days. The municipal council and the municipal council will then discuss the bill so that it can be put to a referendum in the course of next year.

If the outcome is positive, project planning is then advanced and the building application is submitted.

Klinik Gut AG

The private Graubünden clinic company for residents and guests in the region carried out over 3,100 surgical procedures and almost 11,000 outpatient consultations in 2013 with 170 employees at the two clinics in St. Moritz and Chur and at the practice locations in Ascona and Zurich. The medical services offered by Klinik Gut focus on the treatment of sports accidents and orthopedic surgery; around half of the patients have general insurance. From 2015, a new Gut Clinic in Fläsch (GR) will be built and will be opened in mid-2016.
