Prisca Anand and Christoph Schlatter elected to St. Moritz's municipal council

St. Moritz gets three new municipal boards: Gian Marco Tomaschett (SVP), Prisca Anand and Christoph Schlatter (independent) were newly elected to the executive branch right in the first round of voting. The previous Reto Matossi has been confirmed. Regula Degiacomi and Michael Pfäffli (FDP) were voted out.

Renew St. Moritz together: With the replacement of the municipal council, the St. Moritz voters have confirmed the re-election of their municipal president. It votes two previous candidates and brings three experienced, new candidates to the executive branch. “I am very pleased with the result. It shows that St. Moritz wants more cooperation and more practical relevance in politics again,” said entrepreneur Prisca Anand after the election on Sunday.

“The upcoming major projects need transparent management so that they can achieve or maintain public acceptance.” Hotelier Christoph Schlatter wants to promote a budgetary approach to finances. “St. Moritz is doing very well economically, but the resources are not infinite here either. The tasks of the next four years are huge and require farsightedness and cooperation in politics.”

The youngest candidate Claudia Aerni from the Next Generation has retired: “I started as an outsider and am very pleased with the clear result. The municipal council can now work on the renovation of St. Moritz and the municipal council will support him in this.” Aerni remains a member of the municipal council, in which her Next Generation will be the strongest force.

Christoph Schlatter says about the two elected FDP municipal leaders Regula Degiacomi and Michael Pfäffli: “We may be far apart in the content and style of our politics, but St. Moritz is indebted to them both. It is not a matter of course to make yourself available for political office.”

As a result of the election to the municipal council, the two seats of municipal councils Gian Marco Tomaschett and Christoph Schlatter have become vacant again. St. Moritz will elect the substitute candidates on November 6.

Christian Gartmann supported Claudia Aerni, Prisca Anand and Christoph Schlatter during the election campaign. Together with the candidates, he designed their campaigns, developed slogans, language regulations and some of the advertising materials.
