The rejection of the Olympic proposal by Graubünden voters has halted the Graubünden 2022 project. The Graubünden 2022 association regrets this decision, as it is completing what is currently the only, future-oriented major project for tourism, business and sport in Grisons.
For the Graubünden Association 2022, the vote of the Graubünden voters is a big disappointment. The board of the association will decide on how to proceed promptly. The project was halted with today's referendum in Graubünden.
The debate on the project was very intensive in all valleys and language areas and across all age groups and social classes. The dialogue was extremely varied and extended thematically far beyond the year 2022 and the Olympic Games. Graubünden 2022 became a dialogue platform for the canton's future issues.
New ideas are now needed for a lively canton of Graubünden. The Grisons Association 2022 therefore calls on all political and social forces in the canton to think together about the economic future of Grisons and its mountain valleys and to take appropriate measures quickly.
The Graubünden 2022 association thanks the population of the entire canton for the extremely committed dialogue in the run-up to the vote. In front of and behind the scenes of the voting campaign that has now come to an end, hundreds of volunteers fought for the Graubünden 2022 idea.
