The Graubünden 2022 Olympic bid has overcome a first, important hurdle: The Sports Parliament, the highest body of Swiss Olympic, voted unanimously on Thursday in favour of a Swiss candidacy for the 2022 Winter Olympics. Media interest was already very high: the topic of “Olympics in Switzerland” is growing in the public's perception.

“I was a skeptic,” Professor Hansruedi Müller admitted at the meeting. “But they convinced me.” The President of the Athletics Federation voted to support the candidacy, as did all the other representatives of the Olympic Sports Associations present, the athlete representatives and the members of the Executive Board of Swiss Olympic. With the clearest of all possible results, the sports associations have sent a strong signal to politicians and the people of Switzerland: The Olympic Games in Switzerland are a project that deserves our trust.
Numerous media representatives were on site before, during and after the parliamentary session. Swiss television reported with live broadcasts via satellite; journalists from newspapers, Internet portals, news agencies and radio stations as well as several photographers completed the media troop. Following the parliamentary session, managers and journalists met for a media conference with Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer, District President Hansjörg Trachsel, Swiss Olympic President Jörg Schild and GR2022 Director Gian Gilli.
Responsible for media relations and marketing in Graubünden in 2022 is St. Moritz management consultant Christian Gartmann (gartmann.biz). Together with agencies /Department (advertising) and Furrer.Hugi.Partner (PR, campaigns), he realizes the overall appearance of the candidacy.
