The first “Swiss Epic Graubünden” is already sold out. More than 500 mountain bikers will travel on single trails from Davos via St. Moritz and Lenzerheide to Davos from 22-24 August. Swiss Epic Graubünden is part of the new, worldwide “Epic Series”, which includes the legendary “Absa Cape Epic” in South Africa.

The new multi-stage mountain bike race Swiss Epic Graubünden starts with a record. Seven months before the race, all 250 starting places for teams of two have already sold out. The race attracts bikers from all over the world: “We received registrations from all five continents,” says race director Corina Feuerstein. “The rush for the starting positions for this premiere is far beyond our expectations. In order to be able to ensure quality for the participants, we had to limit the starting field.”
Swiss Epic Graubünden is open to amateurs and professionals. The best among them can sign up for the legendary Absa Cape Epic qualify in South Africa. Together with The Pioneer Multi-stage races in New Zealand make up the two events the new worldwide Epic Series. The Epic Series races represent unforgettable experiences on trails in particularly spectacular landscapes. Participants receive all-round care including overnight stays, transfers, luggage transportation, medical assistance and much more.

“We are offering a race that Europe has never seen before. In the first year, the teams expect 350 unforgettable kilometers with 12,000 meters of altitude difference through some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Alps,” says Reto Branschi, CEO of the Davos Klosters destination, enthusiastically. “The incredible run to the starting positions shows that Grisons and the six partner towns have a very good reputation among bikers from all over the world. We are looking forward to welcoming them together with their companions and media from all over the world at the end of August and to having an unforgettable week with them.”
In order to make Swiss Epic Graubünden a reality, the organizer Swiss Epic AG, Arosa, Davos, Laax, Lenzerheide, Scuol and St. Moritz have joined forces and are supported by the Canton of Graubünden. On the race website www.swiss-epic.com If a waiting list has been set up, starting places should still be available. The route of Swiss Epic Graubünden 2019 will be published at the end of February.
