The municipality of Albula/Alvra also wants to participate in the Landwasserwelt project. On Friday evening, the municipal assembly approved a commitment loan of 510,000 francs. Following the approval of Bergün Filisur and Schmitten, three of the four local municipalities have thus accepted the project. Davos is due to decide on its participation in the launch costs this summer.

Landwasserwelt is a tourist project in which the world-famous Landwasser Viaduct is to become the landmark of Grisons and the Albula Valley an excursion destination for visitors who love rail and nature. The UNESCO World Heritage Site RhB and RhB's rail culture should be better presented, generate new added value and create jobs.
To this end, trails and viewpoints are to be improved and a train stop below Schmitten, a tree glider in the forest near Filisur, an adventure farm near Alvaneu and improvements to the Albula Railway Museum in Bergün are to be built.
Within Landwasserwelt, a new shuttle train will run between Filisur, the viewpoint near Schmitten and Alvaneu.
The Landwasserwelt is scheduled to open in summer 2023. The launch costs amount to around 11.6 million francs. They are to be financed by the Rhaetian Railway, the Canton of Grisons, private individuals and the four local municipalities. Albula/Alvra, Bergün Filisur, Schmitten and Davos should together bear a seventh or 1.7 million francs.
With Albula/Alvra, Bergün Filisur and Schmitten, three of the four local municipalities have now accepted the loan proposals and membership of IG Landwasserwelt.
Davos, the fourth local municipality, is also due to make a decision in the summer: The municipal parliament, the Grand District Administrator, is expected to discuss a loan of 510,000 francs to cover the launch costs and membership of the Landwasserwelt sponsorship.
Christian Gartmann has been responsible for project communication for the Landwasserwelt since 2019.
