Population backs InnHub La Punt

The voters of La Punt Chamues-ch (GR) want to make the InnHub possible. With 88 percent, the municipal assembly spoke out very clearly in favour of granting a building right for the Innovation Campus. This allows the project to be further advanced.

The InnHub innovation campus is to be built in the Engadin community of La Punt. At the municipal meeting on Friday evening, voters spoke out clearly in favour of granting building rights on two municipal plots of land. The project is now being further developed so that a building application can be submitted. But before that, the InnHub must pass a second referendum: In autumn, the La Punters will vote on an adjustment to the zone plan. A record number of 148 voters came to the community hall on Friday evening.

After an engaged discussion, in which numerous citizens underlined the importance of the project for the municipality and the region, 130 votes or 88% voted in favour of building law. “The high turnout and the clear acceptance of the building law are both a pleasure and an obligation,” said Jon Erni, co-initiator of InnHub, after the municipal meeting. “The InnHub is a project for La Punt and for the entire region. It is developed in a dialogue between the initiators, the community, the population and future users.

This dialogue is now continuing — the interests of local people will continue to play an important role.”
