A new protection concept for the 2021 Engadin Skimarathon

The Engadin Marathon Week, including the Women’s Race, the Night Race, the Supersprint and the Engadin Skimarathon, was the first major Swiss event to fall victim to the coronavirus pandemic. Menduri Kasper, CEO of the Engadin Skimarathon, looks back and ahead: “Cancelling the event was the right decision. In February, very little was known about the virus and about how to protect people from infection. If nearly 20,000 people had travelled to the Engadin, it would have created a major health risk.” To keep that risk as low as possible in the years ahead, the organisers have now brought in help from what is probably Switzerland’s best-known expert: “We want to leave nothing to chance and be prepared for every possible scenario. With Daniel Koch, we have a highly experienced and competent specialist by our side,” says Menduri Kasper. “The health and safety of all participants, volunteers and partners on site is our top priority.” The next Engadin Skimarathon will take place on 14 March 2021.
