The expertise in spatial development and architecture available in Engadin is being bundled. Upper Engadine and Bergeller Architects have joined forces to form the Upper Engadine Spatial Development and Architecture Group. It wants to use its knowledge and experience for the benefit of the general public, communities and private individuals.
Spatial planning and architecture in Engadin should be coordinated across communities in order to prevent undesirable developments. For this purpose, twelve Upper Engadin architects have founded the “Upper Engadine Department of Spatial Development and Architecture” (FARO). Together, they want to work for future-oriented, sustainable spatial development and architecture in the Upper Engadin and its surrounding area.
“Spatial planning and architectural issues are often considered too small in the Upper Engadine,” says architect Daniel Pensa, who chairs the association.
“However, structural development is part of a whole, which must be viewed as an overall view, beyond municipal boundaries and over long time horizons.”
“The Upper Engadin has proven and highly experienced architects and planners. As individual voices, they are often not heard by municipalities and private individuals,” explains architect Pensa. “The specialist group can pool knowledge and have suggestions discussed in public. Together, we can thus contribute to sustainable development of our valley with local know-how.”
The specialist group is open to other experts from the fields of architecture and spatial planning. It has set itself the goal of actively addressing topics, developing constructive solutions and making them available to the Upper Engadin. To this end, it wants to hold public events and actively participate in political discussion.
