Giuliana Werro wins Engadin Women's Run in a new record time

Giuliana Werro wins the Engadin Women's Run for the first time. The Zernezer beats Seraina Boner from Davos and covers the 17 kilometers from Samedan to S-chanf in a new record time. Helena Guntern from Ftan is third.

In the best conditions, over 1,300 female cross-country skiers started the 25th Engadin Women's Run from Samedan to S-chanf on Sunday. Giuliana Werro (27) had won the Engadin Ski Marathon in 2023, but a victory in the Engadin Women's Run was not yet in her Palmarès. Acted as the top favorite, she tried to run the race wisely and not do all the management work. She succeeded as far as Zuoz.

“The conditions were so good that the race was lively and fast right from the start,” she said at the finish line. After Zuoz, she first broke away from the top group together with Seraina Boner (44) and then distanced them by almost 23 seconds on the last section. Helena Guntern from Ftan finished third with a gap of almost 45 seconds.

With 36:39.4, Giuliana Werro clearly beat the previous course record and entered the books of the Engadin Women's Run with a new record time. She is now one of the favorites at the Engadin Ski Marathon in one week. After winning in 2023 and finishing second in 2024 and 2025, she is one of the most successful runners in recent years.
