Innovation through collaboration

“We can only further develop St. Moritz if we work together,” is the conclusion of the workshop discussion “Innovation in St. Moritz” in the “St. Moritz 360” series. At the invitation of the St. Moritz Tourist Association, service providers from St. Moritz Tourism will discuss strategic topics in “St. Moritz 360”. The series is designed and directed by Christian Gartmann.

St. Moritz needs changes that focus on the guest, stated representatives from the hotel and parahotel industry, gastronomy, trade and industry, who met for the fourth workshop discussion “St. Moritz 360” at the invitation of the Kurverein. The responsibility for the renewal lies with the companies; it is not a task of the public sector, associations or associations.

According to the tenor, St. Moritz could only be successful in the future if cooperation between service providers became more important. Improving guests' holiday experience requires seamless and flexible cooperation between the individual service providers in the interests of the guest. When developing and implementing changes, cooperation between different service providers must therefore be a top priority.

You can find an example of such cooperation between sport and tourism.

Despite personal responsibility, individual companies need guidance when it comes to the question of what kind of guests and experiences they should now focus on, emphasized the service providers present. St. Moritz's overall offerings represent great value. Particularly against the backdrop of currency problems, communicating this strength is extremely important.

Places to relax

In connection with the overall offer, it was criticized that guests and locals in the village would feel too little life. The municipality could act as a driver of revival here. With the parish hall, the old schoolhouse and the Quadrellas parking garage, she has three properties in the village center, which she should use for revival purposes.

“St. Moritz needs places to relax again: après-ski instead of luxury shop windows,” one interviewee described the intention.

The participants also identified health tourism, a reactivation of the guiding theme of “Ski St. Moritz” and attractive cultural offerings that benefit guests and locals as well as local people as possible areas for innovation.
