Rollout of the second JUNKERS F 13 in Dübendorf

JUNKERS Flugzeugwerke Dübendorf has completed the second JUNKERS F 13 in the new series. HB-RIA will start ground tests at Dübendorf airfield in the next few days. A date for the first flight has not yet been set. The third machine in the new series is to be completed in summer 2020 and exported to the USA.

The second JUNKERS F 13 in the new series has been completed. Final work was carried out at the beginning of October; the aircraft is now ready for ground tests. These are of particular importance, as the chassis of the latest machine has been modified compared to its sister completed in 2016.

The soil tests will start in the coming days and will take around four weeks. A date for the first flight has not yet been set. Whether it can still take place in 2019 depends on the results of the acceptance tests, but also on the weather.

“The team did a great job,” says Dieter Morszeck, CEO of JUNKERS Flugzeugwerke Dübendorf, enthusiastically. “The quality of the second machine has improved even more and the further developed chassis provides even greater safety and suitability for everyday use. I am already looking forward to the third plane we will fly with in the USA.”

A third JUNKERS F 13 from the new series is already under construction. The plan is that it will be completed in Dübendorf in summer 2020. After acceptance, it is then dismantled and exported to the USA. There, it is presented to potential customers.

Since the United States is the largest single market for the JUNKERS F 13, the fourth aircraft will then be built in the USA and certified by the American Civil Aviation Authority FAA.
