The Grisons Association 2022 is to be dissolved. The Executive Board has instructed operational management to complete and document all projects, to prepare a final statement and to prepare for the orderly liquidation of the association. It is likely that several more months will elapse before this work is completed and the association is dissolved.
Following the rejection of an Olympic candidacy by the sovereign of Graubünden, the club's purpose, a successful Olympic candidacy in 2022, can no longer be achieved. The board of the association regrets the outcome of the vote and in particular the fact that the NIV process initiated as part of the feasibility clarifications is also being halted. The Graubünden 2022 association will therefore be dissolved in the foreseeable future. The liquidation of the association will take place in an orderly manner and take some time until it is deleted from the commercial register.
A total of seven employees who worked part or full time for Grisons in 2022 and whose temporary contracts will not be extended are affected by the dissolution. As part of the feasibility assessments, well over 200 people were involved in the project. Experts from a wide range of areas worked closely with the association and with local contacts at the venues, associations, associations and authorities of municipalities, cantons and federal governments. The Executive Board and operational management of Graubünden 2022 would like to sincerely thank everyone involved for their great commitment and excellent results.
The association would also like to thank the many thousands of supporters of the project in Grisons and throughout Switzerland: The “Yes to Grisons 2022" committee, the non-partisan committee “OlympJA”, the youth committee “Bock auf Grisons 2022" and a large number of parties, associations, companies and private individuals placed their trust in Grisons in 2022 and supported the project with great persistence and often with financial donations. More than 1,200 volunteers had already signed up to work with Graubünden in 2022.
