St. Moritz village talk, November 27, 7:45 p.m.

In the midst of the tourism crisis, the municipality of St. Moritz has presented a new local strategy and is bringing several strategic projects to the referendum. The voting campaigns and letters to the editor reveal uncertainty among the population regarding the new local strategy. Migros, as a potential investor in a “Signal” site development, provided additional fuel. What does the new St. Moritz community strategy mean for local development? What can be done to revive the village center? Will the village become a “high-price boutique” and the bathroom a cheap “outlet”?

How should retail trade continue and how can new, warm beds be created? Under the direction of Christian Gartmann, local representatives from tourism, trade, industry, politics and the audience are once again discussing in the hall with two external experts who have a special connection to St. Moritz and tourism: Prof. Andreas Deuber is Head of Tourism Studies at HTW Chur. He has many years of experience in banking and tourism financing. Otto Steiner advises tourism destinations around the world on their development. For St. Moritz, he developed a concept to revive the village center.

Admission is free. The door opens at 7:45 p.m., the conversation starts at 8:15 p.m.
