St. Moritz's decision to take over the Garmisch men's World Cup races at short notice was courageous, but the courage paid off. In just a few days, several hundred volunteers, not only from St. Moritz, as well as dozens of soldiers and experts from various fields set up an event that received great attention all over the world. Despite the capricious weather and the cancellation of the downhill run, St. Moritz proved to be a first-class winter sports resort. Sports events offer us media presentation opportunities that we could never achieve in other ways.

Sport in nature is our core competence; we must actively cultivate it, invest in it in a targeted manner and market it efficiently. Yes we can: Our know-how and years of experience in events, a modern infrastructure and our volunteers from all over the valley and beyond are the basis for future events, planned or taken over at short notice. They are the basis for bold decisions that are good for our valley.

PS: The ski festival on Corviglia continues. This week, disabled people are racing for World Cup points. The Paralympics are in Sochi soon.
