The Inn between Bever and La Punt is to be completely revitalized. This was decided by the La Punt Chamues-ch municipal assembly. From the border of Bever to the outskirts of the village of La Punt, the Inn should be given more space. The straight cantonal road on today's Inndamm is to be moved to the railway line on the slope and the railway line straightened, which will enable improvements for train traffic. The course of the Chamuera along the edge of the village is also to be revitalized; a new natural swimming lake is to be created at the mouth of the Inn.

The restoration project and the relocation of rail and road to the slope create space for natural watercourses and contribute to improved flood protection. At the same time, they are reconnecting the floodplain landscape of the Upper Engadin and closing the gap between the revitalization projects already carried out between Celerina and Bever as well as Madulain and Zuoz.

The project began in 2014 and was developed by specialist planners in close cooperation with municipalities, the canton, the Rhaetian Railway, the civil engineering department, agriculture and numerous organizations that work for nature.

The costs are estimated at 78 million francs. 80% or 62.5 million francs are borne by the federal government. The canton that “ewz naturemade Star Fund” and the municipality of La Punt Chamues-ch each contribute 5.2 million francs. The costs for the bypass with tunnel are borne by the canton, those for laying the railway line by the Rhaetian Railway.

In addition to a project loan of 5.2 million francs, the municipal meeting on Friday evening also had to approve a change in the municipality's use planning. The restoration of the Inn and Chamuera as well as the parallel planned projects to straighten the RhB line and the cantonal road were therefore explained to the meeting by the responsible project manager and the consulting spatial planner. Both proposals were adopted unanimously.

Preparatory work to move Engadine Street into a tunnel has already begun. Following the approval and grant phase 2026, construction work for agricultural replacement measures and the gradual transfer of the Inn from its current canal to the plain will also begin in 2027. The restoration of the channeled Chamuera between Müsellabrücke and the mouth with the Inn will begin in 2030. Completion of the entire project is planned for 2033.
